LONDON ENGLAND, UK (REUTERS) - No one knows better how to dress a royal bump than Britain's Duchess of Cambridge.
Even before the birth of the new third in line to the British throne, the "Kate-effect" has taken hold of the maternity fashion world.
Fashion pundits like British designer Amanda Wakeley, one of Kate's favourites, credit the duchess with maintaining her simple style, mixing once again high street with designer wear, this time complimenting her growing baby bump. Amanda Wakeley, British designer favoured by Kate,
"I think the Duchess of Cambridge's maternity style has been very true to her. I think it has been very pared down. I think it is very appropriate, clean and modern, but with a sense of youthfulness too, which is right."
The Duchess has avoided leggings and smocks in favour of feminine maternity wear.
British department store chain, Debenhams, for instance, has reported a 500 percent rise in sale of smart and pretty maternity clothes compared to last summer.
Fashion stylist Hannah Teare said the elegant pregnant Kate has inspired a whole generation of other mums-to-be.
Hannah Teare, fashion stylist,
"You can still look incredibly beautiful when you are pregnant. You don't have to just have to just slop around in Juicy Couture and things like that and Ugg boots. She can't really because of the public persona that she also has to upkeep, but she has remained fairly relaxed within her pregnancy."
Already one of the most watched women in the world, Kate it seems hasn't put a fashion foot wrong during her pregnancy.
For sure women will be watching out for her post-pregnancy choices.
