NASHUA, NEW HAMPSHIRE, UNITED STATES (SEPTEMBER 28, 2012) (NBC) - The guns that infamous gangsters Bonnie and Clyde were carrying when they were killed in 1934 were put up for auction in Nashua, New Hampshire on Sunday (September 30).
Two pistols used by infamous U.S. gangsters Bonnie and Clyde are put up for auction in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Other items for sale included Clyde Barrow's gold pocket watch and Bonnie Parker's cosmetics. The boyfriend and girlfriend were gunned down by police in Louisiana on May 23, 1934. Barrow was 25-years-old when he died while Parker was 23.
The young outlaws crisscrossed the U.S. South for several years in the 1930s robbing banks, stealing cars, killing police officers and charming the tabloid press with daring photos left behind at crime scenes.
The two were often portrayed as a folk heroes during a time when many Americans were suffering at the hands of big banks throughout the Great Depression. But when the pair killed two young Texas patrolmen in 1934, the press turned against them and they were eventually tracked down in Louisiana and killed.
