LONDON, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM (FEBRUARY 18, 2012)(REUTERS) - British label darling the House of Holland looked to the Seventies, science fiction and bicycles for inspiration next season.
Houndstooth, flares, the Seventies and a bicycle theme dominated the runway at the House of Holland show.
Designer Henry Holland who counts model and television presenter Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof amongst his list of friends unveiled his Autumn/Winter show at London Fashion Week on Saturday (February 17).
With a soundtrack of Queen's "Bicycle Race" in the background, he opened the show with models dressed in block colour tunics, red, blue, yellow and pink.
This gave way to blue overalls worn on top of a red work shirt and blue flare trousers, channeling Mindy from hit Seventies tv show "Mork & Mindy" starring Robin Williams and Pam Dawber.
Next up were giant houndstooth prints and zig-zag patterns on work shirts, skinny trousers and tunics.
Holland ended the show with his trademark fur coats in a variety of colours and patterns, this season was black and red zig-zag.
"The show was a Seventies, lux sportswear influence with a futuristic, Seventies, sci-fi theme, kind of 'Mork and Mindy' do the Tour de France," he told Reuters Television backstage after the show.
Holland will be hosting a new television show with Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts, with "We Found Love" singer Rihanna, who wasn't at the show but was at rehearsals for the BRIT awards on Tuesday (February 21), according to her Twitter account.
When asked who was the bigger diva between he and the singer, Holland said: "I haven't properly met her so I can't answer that but I'm a pretty big diva when I want to be."
London Fashion Week ends with menswear on Wednesday (February 22).
