George Michael releases free download of his cover to "You & I" by Stevie Wonder, the British singer's wedding present to Prince William and Kate Middleton for their upcoming nuptials.
INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA, USA REUTERS - British singer George Michael has released a cover of romantic ballad "You & I" by Stevie Wonder on his website georgemichael.com, as a wedding gift to Prince William and Kate Middleton on Saturday (April 16).
The song was a hit for Wonder when it was released in 1972.The lyrics include: "Here we are on earth together / It's you and I / God has made us fall in love, it's true / I've really found someone like you" and also "Well, in my mind, we can conquer the world / In love you and I, you and I, you and I".
On the website, Michael encourages people to contribute to The Prince William & Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund.
The song premiered on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight".
The singer told Morgan didn't release the song to get an invite to the wedding and Will & Kate should be "surrounded by people they love, not dodgy ex-con pop stars."
Confirmed celebrity guests include Elton John and his partner David Furnish and David and Victoria Beckham.
