An image of Jesus shows up in an unlikely spot--- on a Walmart receipt, couple from South Carolina says.

An ordinary Walmart receipt turned into something extraordinary for South Carolina couple Jacob Simmons and his fiancee Gentry Lee Sutherland who say they discovered an image of Jesus Christ on the piece of paper."The more you look at it, the more it looked like Jesus. And it was just shocking, breathtaking," Simmons said, on Monday (July 18)
The couple got the receipt after buying some pictures from Walmart in June. They claim the image appeared on the receipt three days later when Simmons spotted it on the floor of Gentry Lee's apartment.
"I was leaving the kitchen and I just looked on the floor - you just see the receipt and it was like he was looking at me," Simmons said.
The unusual image looked like soot or an ink stain and didn't wear off or transfer when touched.
Clueless about how the image came to be, Simmons said he called the store for more information.
"They said the only way you could really get it black was to put heat on it. And if it was on the floor and heat hit it, how could it come out to be a face?" Simmons said.
The couple said they first discovered the image on the receipt after hearing a particularly relevant sermon at church.
"We had a message on knowing God, abiding in him. If you know God, would you realize him if you saw him," Gentry Lee Sutherland said.
After the initial shock wore off, the couple has started to take comfort in the image, saying the paper receipt has turned into a sign from above.
"We just feel like it's a blessing that God showed it to us and opened our eyes and we just feel like we should share the blessing God gave to us to everybody else."
Simmons hope to find someone to run tests on the paper to find out what caused the image to appear on the receipt.
