Tightrope Walker Henri Rechatin Dies

The French tightrope walker Henri Rechatin, known as Henry's, has died at the age of 82.

MOSCOW, RUSSIA  (REUTERS) -  The French tightrope walker and chair-balancer known as Henry's, whose real name was Henri Rechatin, died on Friday (December 27), the mayor of his home town said.

Henry's balanced in the Alps, across Niagara Falls and over a supermarket in his hometown.

In October 1996, he sat on a chair balanced on its back legs on the edge of the roof of Moscow's Rossia hotel, 44 metres above the ground. The back legs of the chair were balanced on two upside down glasses. These glasses in turn were sitting on another chair, which was balanced on four upside down glasses.

French newspapers said he died at the age of 82.
