PUNE, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA - A wealthy Indian man's obsession for gold and fame resulted in this shirt, made out of solid 22 karat gold.
Priced at a staggering $250,000 U.S. dollars, the shirt took 15 goldsmiths two weeks to make, each putting in 16 hours a day.
Its proud new owner is 32-year-old money lender Datta Phuge.

In order to make Phuge a shirt worthy of the history books designer Tejpal Rankahad to go back in time to find instructions on putting together a metal garment.

"We got the concept of the shirt from the armours of kings, which they used to wear when they used to go to fight."
The garment comes with six Swarovski crystal buttons, an intricate belt also made out of gold, and weighs about 3.3 kilograms, or more than seven pounds.
