Joey Chestnut Breaks His Own Hot Dog Record By Downing 69 Wieners

Joey Chestnut wins the annual Nathan's Fourth of July hot dog eating contest for the 7th time, downing 69 franks and breaking his own record.

CONEY ISLANDNEW YORKUNITED STATES (JULY 4, 2013) (NBC) - The annual Nathan's hot-dog eating contest went to defending championJoey Chestnut on Thursday (July 4) in Coney IslandNew York.

He downed 69 frankfurters and buns in 10 minutes for his seventh consecutive victory.

The only competition came from Matt Stonie, who finished in second place after consuming 51 dogs and buns.

Chestnut won 100,000 USD and a yellow champion's belt. His previous world record was 68 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes.

The 29-year old said he really took his time and conserved energy during the competition.

The Nathan's contest has been taking place for 98 years.
