Giorgio Armani previews his women's 2013-14 autumn/winter show in Milan, offering sleek designs and masculine silhouettes.

MILANITALY (FEBRUARY 25, 2013) (REUTERS) - Italian designer Giorgio Armani showed off a slim, masculine silhouette for his women's 2013-14 autumn/winter show on Monday (Feb. 25).

The designer - who called his collection Garconne - created skirts with Bermuda and woven velvet berets for his French-inspired show.

Large suspenders and jumpsuits completed the collection, adding a tone of refined eccentricity to the creations.

The designer, known for his sartorial artistry, also displayed long skirts cut close to the hips ending in a bias cut - a trend for next winter.

Long trousers came with long flowing zips on the sides to create a new movement.

Shoes were again flat to underscore a search for sober elegance.

Armani, whose show is the last major event to close the Milan fashion week, worked a colour palette of black, white, and violet-blue.

Rounded black buttons returned as a motif on jackets and furs.

For the evening, silk and velvet dresses were paired with flat shoes and berets, adding mystery to the rigorous collection.
