Soft lines and colours dominated Giorgio Armani's youth line in Milan, at the 2013 spring-summer show.

MILAN, ITALY (SEPTEMBER 20, 2012) (REUTERS) - Italian fashion brand Emporio Armani stuck to a sober note for its 2013 spring-summer show on Thursday (September 20).

Designer Giorgio Armani chose simple, clean lines for his easy-to-wear show created for a young woman who likes to feel comfortable in her own skin.

For the morning, jackets in chequered prints were paired with shorts to show legs, and mushroom brown was the base colour.

Sleeve-less blouses exposed arms, unless they were covered with structured jackets, adding dynamism to the fluid shapes.

Trousers were soft and slim at the ankle, paired with silk blouses in matching neutral colours.

Armani worked a soft-toned palette for his summery girls, ranging from beige to light pink and blue.

For the evening, the colour palette echoed Emporio's daywear, but dresses had shiny details to emphasise elegance.

Accessories included small clutches in patent leather, while shoes had silver and bronze finishing to satisfy a taste for glamour.
